So long as the context of the source points out that it’s shipping, it is shipping and to be tagged as such. And the description of the fanfic in question makes it perfectly clear that it’s shipping, soooo, regardless of any oddness due to juxtaposing the image with the tag is coincidental and irrelevant. The tag is properly used.

Then specify the ‘kissing’ or ‘anal’ and ‘explicit’ tags. Searching multiple tags, even minusing out others, is incredibly simple.
Yet when I search for shipping, I don’t search for pictures of friends comforting one another, I want to see smoochies and anal sex.
It’s Derpibooru. Anything with two characters in the same image counts as shipping to these folks.
