Yes, G3 Pinkie was more resposible - but every single trait doesn’t have to be carried over.
I always felt like G3 Pinkie was very responsible and a leader. If I were to compare G3 Rarity to anyone, it would be G4 Pinkie. Fun Loving.
Of course it’s different characters - but it still looks and feels wrong…
They could have used any character but Rainbow Dash… =/
Pinkie Pie is still into party; Scootaloo still likes to ride scooters; Sweetie Belle is still childish…
Meh, would just cause more people to bitch about Rarity, me thinks xP I don’t really want any more of that than we already have.
Doesn’t need to. It’s not in the same continuity and therefore they can be entirely different characters. G3 Rainbow Dash is not G4 Rarity. They don’t even look the same.
It’s not like anybody got jipped out of the deal, anyway. There’s far bigger issues with the show than just not maintaining continuity with events and characters that don’t even exist in the show’s universe, so I’d suggest worrying more about those.
It’s true that a new generation has new characters which isn’t related to the old ones… but why take one and give it so different personality?

Common mistake, thinking in terms like that. Generations is generations, none of prev-gen characters is in G4, because it’s completely separate canon. Hence they didn’t “distorted” anyone, because there isn’t anyone.
And I don’t like how they took Rainbow Dash’s body, and put another brain in it.
Why not take a character that’s already like G4-Dash, and let Rainbow Dash be herself?
Hehe, I am one of the few I know of that actually likes G3 Rainbow Dash.
