Yeah, nor does she seem like the angsty type in the first place. I mean there’s lots of Ursula comparisons due to the Little Mermaid-esque setup and all, but I also think there’s some Mirage too. She like revels in acting hammily evil, and her subjects might not be evil but they like their queen when she’s being evil, iunno maybe it’s got an Oedipal kink appeal for them. Definitely not the kind of pony who would be fishing for sympathy the way the loaded language in this tumblr is doing though. This would definitely work better with an OC changeling.

You do raise a point, why have this “THE EVAL DARKNESS WILL EAT US ALIVE OH NOES” BS? Isn’t the threat of starvation enough?  
Seens like a cheap way to milk angst from a Villain who I honestly don’t think deserves it.

hmmm nope, don’t like this Chrysalis as much as the Cupidite one, seems like it’s gonna go into one of those weird world-building RPG kind of things, like, ‘if not a tumblr would have felt like setting up tabletop game.’ All kinds of weird grimdark things and such (because normal starvation just wasn’t grimdork enuf rite.)  
I forsee mucho sadfeels and background pony/changeling demise.
