Actually no. Most drums in music are ‘toneless’, so that they will sound good with any melody. Most are designed to not be used in a melodious way.

Drums have melody, they are just faster melodies. Also, most “wubs” in Dubstep DO have melody. In fact, almost all of them do.

A melody is any number of tones arranged in some sort of harmonic order. That’s not its exact definition, but I’m pretty sure the real one is close to that. An example of a melody is pressing seven keys on a piano in ascending order of pitch. An example of something with no true melody are drums and most ‘wubs’ in dubstep.
 
I like dubstep that the ‘wubs’ and random sounds actually flow with the melody, or harmonize, instead of being separate from it.

Dubstep can’t be brutal, and it also has nothing to do with Darkstep. Also, heavy Dubstep isn’t noise, it’s actually just Dubstep with emphasis on the bass. Also, chillstep, vocal Dubstep, orchestral Dubstep and melodic Dubstep are not genres.
