I’ve noticed, Applejack only cries in matters pertaining to her family, particularly when either pride or shame is involved.

Liquid. Pride.

This isn’t “crying”. It’s “weeping”.

It’s worst when it actually happens.  
This soap-opera show from the 1970’s called “Dallas” ran for 14 seasons, but the kicker was that the entire 9th season was all a dream, but the audience didn’t know that until the season 10 premier where they basically said “lol season 9 didn’t happen”.

The differing opinion was apparent, but you and that back ground pony acted like that interpretation was loss upon the masses: “FINELY someone gets it” “I’m seriously amazed how many people didn’t understand that”, and you the you come around with “or just have a different opinions then you maybe”, you see what I mean?

What I think: Applejack can cry happy tears, but is unable/unwilling to cry sad tears.

Because it made sense in the context of Applejack and was a surprising line to hear in the first place.

Humor doesn’t diminish things so easily. In the same episode RD’s attemps to block winter were played for comedic effect, but speak volumes about her character.

I couldn’t understand why that line got so big after that ep aired, we’ve seen Applejack cry tears of sadness and or frustration more than once before TftM, in at least three different eps I can remember. The whole thing was just supposed to be funny because everyone else was a crying wreck over something so silly as a turtle hibernating (and RD being emotional about it) and AJ couldn’t be bothered to get worked up over something so trivial. In other words, Pinkie’s line and AJ’s reaction was just for humor in episode context, not supposed to be taken as a literal truth of AJ’s character. I’m seriously amazed how many people didn’t understand that (or I guess have really bad memories) since again we’ve seen her cry multiple times before this.

Glad to know someone else remembers it.

Pinkie Pie’s “Crying on the inside” remark was in regards to Applejack crying from sadness. When she sees Apple Bloom in her Gala dress, she cries out of joy.
 
We have, however, seen Applejack cry, and she usually tries to hide it when she does.
