Like the difference between a Great Dane and a Mastiff. The former is the tallest dog, but the latter is the largest dog.
Celestia is definitely taller than even the male Saddle Arabian we saw in Magic Duel. I doubt Troublehoof is taller than she is, even if he definitely is a LOT bulkier.
Clyde is Clydesdale.
Somewhat taller and definitely more bulky.
He’s certainly bigger as a whole, but going by comparisons, I’d say he’s roughly the same height as Celestia (which is roughly a head taller than Big Mac).
He’s significantly bigger than Twilight still. Big Mac is about as big as Luna is.
But he’s also just a regular sized horse instead of a pony.
Celly’s height comes mostly from the weird proportions (long legs and neck) that all alicorns seem to get.
Like the other alicorns, she is tall rather than bulky in general like this dude.
I think so, but Twilight has just started growing into her alicorn-ness.

I’ve always thought Celly was just big naturally, alicorn or not.
So it IS possible for a normal pony to be bigger than an alicorn
