I think the fact that its now a giant looming castle would probably also account for the additional stairs, yes. Its hard to keep details like that in mind when updates come so gradually.

the construction of the house has already been altered, and he pretty much says that reality is malleable enough to be “bent” to the expectations of the user, so in this page, celestia probably felt like the stairway was bigger, therefore it was.

okay so the next page confirms that the door hinging the wrong way is entirely intentional and significant. Is the fact that they suddenly have a 40-ish step stairway to go up one flight also related to cewestia unintentionally breaking reality?
