I mean, yeah, RD might have acted a bit like a doofus to her, but that doesn’t mean she need to rub salt on her wound as petty revenge. Friends don’t do that.
Yeah, Fluttershy totally should have commiserated with Dash, so she would have stayed depressed and listless even longer before finally having to accept that Tank needed to hibernate and having the same emotional breakdown we saw in the episode. That would’ve been a much better way of handling it, just help Dash avoid the unpleasant truth for as long as possible.
Because they’re a deranged psychopath, and by alternian troll logic that makes them attractive to the emotionally stable.
Why would you want to be moirails with them?

Second of all:

Bullshit. Kicking your friends when their down is NOT an act of kindness, no matter what spin you put on it. And Fluttershy was not a “life-saver to Tank) at that point of the show” due to the fact that Dash was in the fourth stage of the supposed “cycle of grief” and probably would have accepted it if she was given some more time alone.

Hahaha… That’s were you’d be wrong… While the weather was shown to be getting colder, they never showed a food shortage for that matter… Also, ‘winter’ seems to be manufactured rather than a natural event. From what it sounds like, it could come at any point in time.

So, not listening to her friends makes her an asshole? No, it does not. And take into account that she loves her pet, and that she’s having a difficult time accepting this ‘hibernation’.

On a serious note, using hyperbole isn’t going to help you in your arguments. It wasn’t an “act of terrorism”, considering the fact that she was just supposed to drain the water tank rather than actually causing the weather factory to malfunction and cause ponies fear for whatever reason. I think there’s a name for that type event… Oh yeah! It’s called an ‘accident’. And in order for it be classified as a ‘terrorist attack’ it would’ve had to be deliberate and intended to create fear, which that part certainly wasn’t.

But he didn’t get sucked into that vent due to Rainbow Dash’s quick reactions and her caring about him, and considering that was an unintended consequence, can you honestly, 100% blame her for something technically Tank caused and that she didn’t think would happen and tried to correct when it did? And you honestly think Dash is an asshole for something she could really control and didn’t want to happen in the first place? Let me tell you, that wasn’t her being an asshole. That was her not thinking ahead… Which I don’t really blame her for. Hell, if I done that I wouldn’t have expected that to happen.
As for stage 4, there were better ways of doing it rather than exploiting her emotional state. Being honest =//= being kind. And seeing as she fucking well knew Dash was in a depressed state, it would’ve been better if she had been empathetic seeing as Dash would’ve been able to have an easier time accepting it through relating to her, thinking about it, then accepting it, rather than having Fluttershy say “Your winter will be petless” and causing Dash emotional torment. And if you think that was Fluttershy “living up to her element!” then your definition of kindness is clearly warped.

Ah! I think I’ve found some nice examples of ad hominem here. Calling me an “asshole”, “simple” and “poor” minded. How nice of you, clearly non-biased, complex sir(!) Clearly you know me IRL, and are 100% justified in those comments(!)
But seriously, attacking me isn’t going to do anything for your arguments… Nor is it going to discourage me.
Hmmm, is that right? Not being the element she is suppose to represent you say? Oh nameless background pony, that is where you are, in fact, dead wrong, for Fluttershy was being kind to RD (and a life saver to Tank) at that point of the show. Allow me to explain; Did you know RD was essentially going through the five stages of Loss and Grief in the entirety of this episode? Let me break it down for you;
Stage One) Denial and Isolation. When Fluttershy, whom RD went to in order to find out what was up with tank, completely disregarded the expert information of an animal expert, refusing to believe her. She then went on and removed herself from others to try and keep Tank awake, acting out in anger whenever others brought up the fact that Tank NEEDED to hibernate, which takes us to the next stage.
Stage Two) Anger. This one should be self explanatory. RD was going off at just about any pony who were just telling her the truth about what Tank needed, with RD still not wanting to accept the fact that Tank did indeed needed to hibernate. Oh - and did you know that by RD denying and refusing Tank to allow to hibernate, she is in fact putting his life in danger? Now, I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a really asshole move on RD’s end. This happens more then once in this episode, actually. But we’ll get to that on the next step, just to give your simple, bias mind a small rest~
Step Three)Bargaining. “If I can’t stop Tank from hibernating, maybe I can stop winter from coming!” Remember this line from RD? Of course you do. Remember what she did after she said that? Oh, I am sure you know very well. It started out as small things such as hiding the clouds and putting back the leaves on the trees. But when that wasn’t enough, she thought that it would be best to sneak into the Cloudsdale weather factory and sabotage it. Remember how that turned out? No? Let me tell you! Tank almost ended up getting sucked into a vent with a very fast rotating fan. Once again, RD was putting Tank’s life in danger in an attempt to stop him from hibernating. Actually, when everything else stated to break in that room, it put Tank in more risk for his life. And who was all responceable of this asshole act? None other then RD herself. Sure, she saved him from those dangers, but that don’t not make RD unaccountable for her actions, nor does it change the fact that she was the one who put him in those dangers. The outcome?; she ended up sending a Winter Nuke down to Ponyville, which by all means counts as an act of terrorism. My, RD is sure looking like an complete asshole now, don’t you think?~ ;p
Stage Four)Depression. And now we get to this step. The step where Fluttershy wasn’t, as your poor, simple bias mind amusingly believes, an asshole and was in fact, living up to her Element! You see, RD’s response to all of her friends comments was “Whatever…”, doing nothing but laying in bed as she grieved over the fact that she wasn’t able to stop Tank from hibernating. Even through she knew that there was nothing she could do, she still didn’t allow Tank to take the hibernation he needed. That is, until Fluttershy stepped in to tell her the truth; “Your winter will be… Petless.” And RD started to cry. She started to cry because she started to accept the cold, harsh fact that she is not able to keep Tank with her for winter, no matter what she did. RD needed to hear that, otherwise she would of been stuck in this step for a extended amount of time, once again putting Tank in harm by delaying his much needed hibernation. Sometimes, the truth can hurt. But at the same time, a cold, harsh truth is needed to move on for the better. And Fluttershy, being the kind pony that she is, knew this. She told RD this so that RD may move on from this stage and help Tank go into hibernation. See what Fluttershy did there? She helped both RD and Tank, which is totally not an asshole move, as you so call claim. Fluttershy said what she said in order to allow RD to move to the next and final step.
Stage Five) Acceptance. One of the hardest step to reach. And one that Fluttershy made possible for RD to reach in the end. In this step, RD finally allowed Tank to get his much needed hibernation, allowing others to say their good byes to him. And it’s all thanks to Fluttershy, for she is truly kind having told RD what she needed to hear (even when RD didn’t want to hear nor accept it). See a pattern here? All of this is happening because of Fluttershy and her act of kindness. Once again, the truth can hurt. But if the outcome is for the greater good, then it is an act of kindness to tell that to whomever in order to move on. And Fluttershy knew that.
Got all that? Good?~
Now, quite frankly, I don’t fucking understand what you mean by Fluttershy being an asshole to RD. Especially when we can see so otherwise. If anything, there are only two assholes to come from this; RD for refusing to accept the facts, latching out at her friends, putting Tank’s life in danger and committed an act of terror in the form of a Winter Nuke. And you, Oh nameless background pony, for being completely bias asshole who is dead set on seeing RD as the innocent one when we have prove stating otherwise.
Now, do yourself a favor and apologies to everyone for being a bias asshole~ After that, you may kindly sit down, with your mouth shut and your fingers away from the keyboard~

No, she wasn’t, funnily enough… ‘I mean she pretty much said “Fuck you, you’re an idiot, tortoises don’t hibernate” to Fluttershy’ That’s where you’re wrong. She didn’t actually say that, as your interpretation suggests and even with Rainbow Dash ignoring her advice, Fluttershy’s response wasn’t, in any way, “justified”. During Hurricane Fluttershy, when RD was angry at Fluttershy, yet could see she was about to get upset, what did she do? Oh yeah… She dropped her tone and went easy on her because it was decent thing to do… Now, when Rainbow Dash is down, what does Fluttershy do? Be kind like the element she’s supposed to be representing… Ha! No. She goes and be an asshole to Rainbow Dash, stating ever so bluntly “You’re winter will be petless”.

Hahaha… “Tough love”. Don’t make me laugh… And really? How will keeping him from hibernating endanger his life? ‘Or to let Dash keep going all “BWAHAHA! THE FALL WILL LAST FOREVER!”’ One problem with that… When her friends visited her, she was very depressed, which implies she’d given up that plan…

Hmm… And yet I thought honesty was Applejack’s specialty… I also thought Fluttershy’s element was kindness… But it certainly looks like I was wrong… I also know some other methods that might’ve worked: Giving her an empathetical speech, leaving her alone, comforting her etc.
As she learned in her key episode with the Breezies, sometimes you have to be brutally honest. And, shocking I know, if you paid attention, it also worked.
It’s called tough love. The alternative was to allow a helpless tortoise to be kept from hibernating when it would have endangered his life. Or to let Dash keep going all “BWAHAHA! THE FALL WILL LAST FOREVER!”

She’s just being honest. Fluttershy had to say something so that Rainbow Dash could move on without thinking too much about Tank or else she would’ve become depressed. Rainbow dash needed some criticism. Besides, Tank will return at some point in the show.
And RD wasn’t? I mean she pretty much said “Fuck you, you’re an idiot, tortoises don’t hibernate” to Fluttershy, an animal expert. I say Fluttershy saying that to her was pretty much justified in the end.
