IDW were shit since the beginning, but they were something fresh and new, with a darker tone, and had a lot of fanservice, and their initial popularity when all over the writers’ heads.

Dude last time I checked both princesses are weak at physical and magic confrontation on the actual Canon Mlp show. They got ambushed and defeated by a bunch of magic vines when even the Mane 6 could deal with them.
 
Heck Celestia never did anything. She always sent the Mane 6 to do the dangerous stuff. She always made excuses and manipulated the situation. She even told Luna to back off on the Crystal Empire mission. But hey, at least Celestia’s smart enough to be a great manipulator. I’ll give her that. She has everypony fooled. Even manipulated Twilight into believing that being a princess is her destiny. Lol!

But it’s true though. The comics makes odd plotholes for the sake of a story. The comics are nice the first couple of issues, but the more I read them the more I start to question “Why didn’t they do this?” “Why couldn’t they just fix it with a spell?”. People are not “Drama baiting”. They are trying to express their opinion on how they feel. Nuking this post would not silence how people feel about this.
