True, though the term is often more applied to heavy cavalry from Eurasia. Like the Byzantine and Persian region.
By the time Gothic armor came into play it was the norm in Europe to start turning horses into basically tanks. The introduction of firearms had that sort of effect.
ah! still it fits the cataphract scheme of things (armored horse and rider, lance weapon)
Less that and more German. That armor is in the Gothic tradition of German armor making.
