well, there was season 1 obviously, then the Trollestia thing, but season 2’s premier probably fueled the most fires, with the turning Discord into stone. Either way, it was a dumb time, one not worth reminiscing much about.
Never underestimate the infinite bounds of human stupidity.
I honestly don’t even know how people came up with Tyrantlestia back in the days. I joined the fandom relatively late, but i never check out anything pony related until i watch the first season.
And even then, my first impression of Celly is like a motherly figure trying to teach the newer generation of her wisdom so they can handle things themselves.
And then people think that she is a troll and lazy for not doing anything? If an immortal being keep having to clean up the messes then her subjects will never learn and grow. Heck, this trope have existed way back in the old cartoons and whatnot.
I don’t mind those who joke using those memes, but when people seriously dislike her for said reasons, it hurt my brain due to the level of ignorance.
you know, the funny thing is that even back then I don’t remember ever protesting as much as I was just occasionally pointing out, ‘dude, wtf?..’ kind of face and response.
hated those days though.. it’s a nice change of pace seeing now the tyrantlestia stuff going in negative like/dislike ratios, at least the one that is lacking in any kind of substance, or more specifically, the image macro kind.
I feel your pain, Celestia is my favorite simply because back then it seemed like so few people like her. While it has gotten better I still have her as my favorite character, simple because she’s to me what the perfect ruler is.
oh, fuck me. Those days of Tyrantlestia.. Why did you have to remind me those actually existed, as in, they were Actually a thing this fucking fandom did thinking it was Funny, somehow?
or, maybe they didn’t, maybe even as far as back then people thought actually hating on a character was cool, because Luna..
you shoulda left me in my ignorance man, both-a ya’ll. fucking fandom and its Tyrantlestia… that right there was my Twilicorn, all these people crying and complaining about Twilicorn don’t know shit about the pain o’ all us mother fuckers suffered through the early years of Tyrantlestia!
Blame the early days of the fandom, the early mindsets are still being felt.
