No no I got it. I’m just to lazy to reply to the whole message. lol
The point of that last phrase went completely over your head but okay.
I do live my life normally. I really do. Honestly what you saw was just a one time thing. I normally have a lot to do. Though you don’t care about that So I’ll leave it alone.
I can understand that but its not your place or mine to tell anyone that otherwise. Sure it shows that their views on it are unfounded with little to no justification, but, in reality, that’s their narrative. But to be fair, I do find it silly that you would be personally bothered by that. I suggest that you just live and let sleeping dogs lie.
I don’t really like starting arguments in the first place. I’ve just seen so much hate on this based on it’s association alone with little to no justification from others. So it wasn’t me trying to start an argument, it was just starting to get to me is all.
I sometimes like to come off as passive aggressive to get my points across because there are times where it seems impossible to do just that. And sorry if it bothers you but I really don’t care. Whatever tone my text comes off as doesn’t degrade my arguments. Therefore, it’s irrelevant. I could have seen you coming off as as instigator but I ignored that.
Sure. Though I cant help but still imagine you with this “Tone” with words like I don’t care or give a damn. No offence it just painted that picture for me.
I don’t care if you had a problem with me or not. That’s your prerogative to choose either way. And the reason why I’m not going to go into a full-length detailed analysis explaining why I don’t agree with you is because it will just boil down to a difference in opinion. That and its not anyone’s job to satisfy your curiosity. I found the story itself uncanny due to the typical nonlinear narrative most fanfiction seems to have. The romances, I also found to be written as equally unrelatable and believable to how anything close to a real life scenario for them would work out, despite the otherwordly qualities and norms mentioned otherwise. Creative? Sure. Original? No. There’s my take. Happy?
It’s not you I have a problem with. It’s just a force of habit since most of the people I have talked to about it have admitted to not reading it and giving similar answers. I’m fully ok with someone having a different opinion I just feel better trying to understand WHY they think of it like that but not the HOW.
Upset? No. I’m slightly confused as to why you would push me to clarify my stance on it, and all you do is comment on the assumed tone of my reply. Either you respond accordingly or admit that you have no place question why anyone would disagree with you. You obviously believe that Spiders and Magic was great for some reason, while I thought it was shit. End of story. The artwork here is fine. The story is something else.
Are you done? Because from your response you seem upset. Which wasn’t my intention. If there was a misunderstanding then I’m sorry.
How much I’ve read of the damn thing is irrelevant and a moot point. Whether or not I read half-way through or the whole thing, as soon as I start to dislike anything, that will be my take on it until I’m convinced otherwise. And exactly what do you mean if they get the facts straight? My understanding of the story or interpretation? I can summarize it in either the most elaborate or shallow way possible and it wouldn’t matter.
You don’t have to accept anything that I say, only understand that I didn’t find it interesting and that it in itself possesses the same value as any other piece of fanfiction.
Also, you’re misinterpreting what I said when I stated “Given, his/her right to do so.” I was still referring to the possible person(s) that were commissioning fan art of the story. So nice try in attempting to scrutinize my original statement.
Just to throw this out there, the length of any work of literature is irrelevant to the abstract quality of it. The Great Gatsby had only around 50,000 words in it and is still considered one of the greatest novels written, whereas Charles Dickens’ Martin Chuzzlewit was around 330,000 words long and is considered his worst piece written, along with American Notes. But I’m going to assume you haven’t read those.
Ah I see.
Yes, (Brody voice) WHAT’CHA GOIN’ TO DO ABOUT IT?!
(Joking aside, I did it to emphesize what comment was refering to, just wanted to make it more obvious for those Amish people who just recently got a computer.)
Exactly how much did you read? I can accept that someone has a different opinion but only if they have all the facts straight. Also the author is a dude. Thought you would have known that if you truly read the whole thing. And considering that the story is long enough to be a thick novel, that’s saying something.
Did you just comment to yourself?
Actually he’s not the only one who commissions these pics. It has a small but growing fanbase.
Y’know, I made that comment in a facetious way, I had no idea there was a major fanfic based off this image.
I’ve read it and still find it unsavory. And just like a bunch of fanfiction, this one being no different, doesn’t really posses anything that makes it all that special. From what I’ve heard, a lot of the fanart for it is being commissioned by an obsessive fan. Given that it’s his/her right to do so, it still doesn’t add any value to it or the way how anyone else views the content itself.
So in a way, I agree with @Background Pony #38C3
Words from someone who probably hasn’t read it all the way through.
