For those that don’t know (or don’t care): In 2012, The Weather Channel thought it would be a good idea to better communicate the threat of winter storms by giving names to notable or disruptive ones that hit the United States. So far, the use of the names has been met with criticism, especially with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA).
