Well, as a no-account BP I can’t post URLs in comments, so it’s going to be ugly, but here goes:  
There’s an Excel spreadsheet at halfbattle dot com/mlp/MLPTimeChart.xlsx which collects an insane amount of data regarding how many seconds each pony appears in each episode (including supporting/minor characters, EqG movies, and more; I haven’t explored it all yet, actually). I pulled it up in Libre Office, copied the relevant information for the Main 7, doubled season 3’s numbers (since it was a 13-episode season), then divided all the numbers by the number of seconds in 22 minutes. (I suspect the actual running time of each episode is closer to 21 minutes and varies by up to 10 seconds between episodes, but such differences are pretty negligible.)
 
dziadek1990 on deviantArt also has some data and graphs on the first three seasons and the first ten episodes of season 4, but between being busy with other stuff and seeing the spreadsheet that I referred to previously, he’s not finished season 4. I haven’t checked all of their numbers to see how closely they agree, but going by what I’ve checked from the numbers of the first 10 season 4 episodes, they seem to be in general agreement. (The halfbattle spreadsheet pretty consistently lists more screentime per pony per episode than dziadek1990, but from my spot checks it’s generally less than 2% more and never over 10% more, so I expect the ratios you’d get from either dataset would be roughly the same.)

Do you have a source for that information? I do find it hard to believe that Twilight had slightly more screen time in season 4 than season 2.
 
There was more group episodes in season 4 than season 2 so that might explain it. (However Pinkie Pie’s screen time has a big drop compared to season 1 & 2)

Assuming 22 minutes per episode (which isn’t strictly correct, but close enough), here’s the percentage of time each character has been on the screen:

We can wait an eternity until we are worthy of watching season 5 since some people have the audacity to complain about our perfect pony princess! She is beyond criticism so all of you haters should just get over yourselves and embrace her (i.e. learn to love her) for who she is.

One character does not a season make. It would be better if they would dive into existing characters instead of throwing in new ones (again, why I actually want to see the background character episode).
 
<rant> Maybe if so much screen time was not wasted on a certain princess, they could do that more. Alas, the season premiere is already confirmed to be orbiting around Twilight. What else can we expect? It’s not like being an alicorn princess is anything special anymore since Celestia can just give that status to anyone. Oh wait, even more screen time is wasted just to try and convince everyone of that. </rant>

I’m much more looking forward to Rick and Morty season 2(Now that is a painful wait for a new season).

Along with half-life 3, I almost feel like Season 5 will never come here…

I can never truly fault S04 for anything because it has Weird Al in it. Therein, I believe S05 could be equally forgiven for any potential flaws by including a guest star like Adam West or Cave Johnson. :3

I heard it is later on in spring / summertime-ish. Can’t say I am too excited or really waiting for it ever since the show focused on and revolved around Twilight as well as blowing up my favorite location in Ponyville. Fan stories have been more interesting to me lately. It sucks because I miss the days when I was excited for new episodes. Meh, still looking forward for the 100th episode background pony edition.

It’s January. 2015 is far from over. :j
