Sorry to burst your bubble but since Hasbro bited more that they could chew when they tried to expand their audience,we’re stuck with angry comic book nerd forever.No escapism allowed ever,they could have stayed at a level they could handle but greed pushed there to embrace the overblown hype and now they are getting burned by it since they clearly dont know how to deal with an older audience

I’m glad to know I’m not the only person calling for this. It’s heartening to see folks willing to call out bad storytelling. Not because we hate the comic, as some assume, but because we think it can do better.

Stories intended for kids still need to follow the basic elements of storytelling: setting, character, plot, backstory, and detail.
 
If you assume your audience won’t notice weaknesses simply because they’re young, you’ve already failed. Kids may not be able to say why this story feels off, yet I think they would still say this story doesn’t make sense.
 
Better to expose kids to good storytelling, so they can grow up to do even better.

i could actually have tolerated more of its flaws if the bulls never outright assaulted anyone to be honest. not acting out with direct violence, tiwlight would stay her hoof cause of her inexperience with this kinda crap………
 
i THINK we were supposed to take the acts of violence we did see as exaggerated non violent things. they were using cues like flick and push. because the bulls were not ‘technically’ being violent like that.
 
it really did not work at all. if they never touched anypony, i think it would have worked. they hit them however. so no.

A- Being “for kids” is no excuse to have bad writing  
B- The comics are aimed at an older audience than the show

Gentle reminder that this is a franchise for little children and you should all probably relax a little.
