Description

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

So my local IMAX was showing advance screenings of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, and I went to see it.

It’s awesome.

And I was originally going to do either a Vinyl Scratch anthro test, or another Spitfire pic using an F-18 model I found, but I decided instead to do a pic that was inspired by the movie.

I found this SFM rendition of the “many worlds” map from Gmod and decided to use it for a quick and dirty render. I almost instantly decided what it was going to be: best princess riding a rocket to the stars.

This was a pretty straightforward posing job. The rocket is of course the RED rocket from TF2, visible on maps like dustbowl. This is actually the skybox version of the rocket so I had to scale it up quite a bit so that it would be in similar proportions to Luna. Also I added in a volumetric orange light at the aft end to simulate the engines firing (I know in reality it would actually be a bluish color, but I decided to go for something a little more dramatic).

This is the SFM rigged version of Luna, as evidenced by the determined smirk on her face and the spreading of her wings as she takes to the stars. I originally wanted to have a bit more dynamic pose, but I’m still learning my way around posing the pony models. And like I said, this was a rather quick render, so I just left her as she was.

I have to say I’m really having a lot of fun with Source Filmmaker. I’m going to see if I can churn out something new every 1-2 days. My schedule is pretty hectic so I have no idea if I’ll stick to this or not, but I really would like to produce more content.

As well as eventually get around to making some movies.

So is Nolan’s last film worth watching? I have read many reviews on the internet and most of them say the movie is bad.
