i was referring to the standard comic/manga tendency to give teenagers shinigami/spirit detective/stands/personas/power armors/mechas/magic/henshin hero powers and they almost perform ok. i just expanded the initial power rangers reasoning i did earlier

what’s stopping sunset satan from marching her brainwashed horde across equestria then explicitly say that they are brainwashed innocents. she’s gonna mongolize equestrian warfare

Twilight didn’t have her magic in the EQG world because it didn’t have magic. If they crossed over to Equestria, they’d likely keep their magic because that world does have magic.

After all, we saw their powers were sustained by Sunset, who didn’t had full control of the magic. That’s two exploits right there.

Just give Discord a 2 minute speech about how friendship is lame, and save the crystal empire for last. Celestia and Luna are easy enough to deal with, when you’ve got a brainwashed army of innocent people as a meat buffer, two of whom are alternate reality versions of them. Plus, she could probably brainwash them as well as the guards and any other ponies she happens to come across, since only main characters seem to be immune to her powers.

Well, considering how easy it is to conquer Equestria when the Elements of Harmony aren’t around, I’d say it’s a solid plan.

Did she ever even say her plan? For all we know she was just about to turn the rest of the kids into a demon army to invade equestria.

snips and snails were 100% loyal servants though, while the rest had to be brainwashed into zombies. I think it seems that she didn’t want to go giving power to those not fully under her control in case that allowed them to break out of their mind control or whatnot.

actually now that i think of it…it’s pretty standard to give teenagers ANYTHING (they work best with giant robots though) and they’d perform excellently/satisfactorily. so sunset maybe on to something here…
