I don’t think it’s that Rarity would come out and say that or personally factor that in the decision. I think it’s more that Applejack would recognize that trait in Rarity and combined with her own interest would lead her to be the one to carry her and Rarity’s children.
I don’t think either one of them would actually comment on Rarity’s vanity but it would be something they would both be thinking at least a little, given what they know about each other.
i imagine rarity wouldn’t be selfish like that. i think rarity would be the one to do it because it wouldn’t affect her job as much as it would for applejack

I figured Applejack would have more interest in pregnancy. She has a big family, I always pictured her as wanting something like 3-5 kids.
And plus we have to consider Rarity’s vanity. I mean, I think her desire to not have her figure affected might play a minor role in the decision of who will carry the magical lesbian spawn.
It’s supposed to represent motion.
