Actually, only two of them seem employed (Pinkie and Rainbow). Fluttershy seems to run her own affairs, and Twilight seems to own the town library (admittably because Celestia got her the deed, but still).
 
And heck, Pinkie seems to run her own catering service on the side of her job as assistant baker to the Cakes, though that may be something she does for free.
 
And Dashie is the Captain of the weather team, so at least she’s a manager.

For those who say the Mane 6 are “full grown mares” (lol). Rarity own a business because her parents are filthy rich, and anyone can start a business at any age as long as they got money (obviously). Applejack works with her family. The others are employed. The only pony who runs a business independently is Rarity because she’s rich, not because she’s a “full grown mare” (lol).

You’re gonna give yourself a headache if you think too much about how ages work in the EG movies, although really, it looks like there’s at most a few years’ age difference between Pony-Human!Twilight (and Sunset) and the “human 5”.

For a while I’ve been trying to make sense of the whole age thing between one dimension and the other but I can’t. I guess with other dimensions/universes not everything is 100% paralleled, with one character being either older or younger compared with his alternate self.

The only “full grown mares” in the movie are Celestia, Luna, Cheerilee, and Granny Smith. Everyone else are teens (mane 6) or kids (CMC).

I take it you haven’t seen Lauren Faust’s FAQ where she says they intentionally left the ages of the Mane 6 fuzzy, but they thought of them as teenagers in terms of maturity?
