Wasn’t it that in the Japanese version, Ristar’s “angry” idle animation would only play for boss levels, while in the American version he’ll always be angry when left alone, regardless of the level?

And the Japanese have one with cute, it’s a subtle but interesting look at 2 completely different cultures.
Because America has this obsession with “macho” and “hardcore”.
