I’ve never posted a picture of the complete set including my custom luna, so here we go.
Sadly however, This colour scheme is discontinued as I can no-longer get the dark purple colour (known as midnight blue when it was available)

I actually found that it was the undercoat that wouldn’t adhere to resin properly. Games Workshop’s own undercoat spray was useless when applied to forge world models, regardless of how well you cleaned the parts beforehand.
If I wanted to paint any model from forge world, I had to use a plastic primer designed for car bodywork (such as bumpers and wing mirrors), which also had the advantage of being just over half the price of GW’s undercoat spray.
The new paints can actually be painted straight on to the resin without undercoating first, although this is a practice I’ve never done myself, aside from finishing off an ‘Imotech The Stormlord’ miniature for one of the other players at my local club that had barely seen a lick from a spray can.
Not that i know of, i posted links on the baneblade though.
Humm, i’ll have to give it a shot.
It is possible to mix a very close color to the one you’re after.
Use ‘Abaddon Black’, and one of the blues.
I used ‘Ultramarines Blue’ with my Luna themed warhound titan, which is covered in lightning effects.
Thank you =)
Aye, It isn’t good when they discontinue a colour =( Luckily my commissars cape was painted when I still had some left, but now my pots as dry as Death Vally itself.
They haven’t even brought out a replacement colour in the new set they have released. But if they did bring out a replacement, I doubt it would work the same, it seemed to have some sort of…..unique quality to it in which your base colour would dramatically affect the outcome.
If I ever find the colour again, or a colour close enough to the effect I desire, I may just continue this scheme ^^
Providing I remember the mixture ratio for the clothing to make a second pot :p
In all honesty, the old paints went on resin quite fine, I have the resin commissar and even those tank turrets from forge world, they painted up great to be fair. Much like metal miniatures, but not likely to chip.
I think the name changes were stupid
.oh well.I know how frustrating it is when GW decide to stop making certain paints.
My Eldar army was originally painted with Storm Blue and white, and that blue has also been discontinued.
In fact, all the old satin finish paints have now been stopped. The new paints are all matt finish, which don’t produce as good a result.
I think they changed the paints because the old set would not adhere to resin properly.
So obviously the release of finecast models meant they had no choice but to change their paint line.
They also changed all the names so they could stop any other companies claiming ‘equivalent to whichever Games Workshop color’.
That’s why all the new paints carry a copyrighted name.
