I was thinking less sad and more annoyed. Some slamming of doors and grinding of teeth and unkind things said about “giant face rocks” when there’s nopony around to hear.

I’m hoping that at some point we get a scene where she forgets that she outranks the Mayor and has to be reminded whose job it is to give who instructions.

Totally agree that Twilight would be very hesistent to accept as much praise as she’s been given, when you consider she believed she had no “job” that demanded her royalty. Totally in character.
 
What will be interesting is that now that she actually has a purpose as a Princess (from the S4 finale), will she be more welcoming of ‘‘some’’ simple pomp ? Not in an assy manner (“WORSHIP ME NOW PLEBS”) but less embarassed when others bow and the like.

Well, it seems after her last attempted conquest, Chrysalis seems to be going down a more step-by-step political route in her attempts to take over Equestria.
