I didn’t write this idea to bash Twilight or anything. I just thought it would be an interesting story to have Sunset and Spike as siblings being raised by Celestia. (big sister Sunset, and momma Celestia are cute ideas, in my opinion.)  
No bashing or anything like that, just a choice I made for the universe.

I’ve seen so many stupid arguments about how Spike is abused or mistreated by Twilight that it makes it hard for me to take anyone seriously about the subject. I apologize for my rudeness.
 
It’s an alternate universe so who knows how SS will behave when raised like this. I’m not opposed to the idea but just for giving Spike a “better parent”? That seems like a shallow excuse to me.

Your argument seems based on the assumption that she would only treat Spike as she treats Snips and Snails in the movie. Does this image suggest a filly who was already on that path, though? Would not having a loving, dedicated child like Spike in her care have an effect on her as well? In the reality where Sunset raises Spike, Spike raises Sunset, too… just as he’s been there for Twilight.

And also appreciates him. But that wouldn’t fit the narrative, would it? Also when did Sunset ever treat S&S as anything more than henchmen? Please, point out when she gave a shit about them.
 
Anything less than flawless Spike appreciation won’t satisfy BPs that long to suck Spike’s tail so I won’t humor you any more.
