Sonic SatA.M. was a pretty good show, though a bit overrated at times in the Sonic fanbase. I don’t see how it was that similar to that episode arc, aside from having cute animal characters in a darker setting vibe. (Kinda like “Secret of NIHM”)
I was a Sonic fan myself. I had felt Sonic SatAM vibes when I saw a the first Discord episode. Made me feel like a kid again. Now, not so much.
I saw one brony bash Sonic fans for making “lame recolor fan-characters,” yet his DA page was loaded with pony recolor fan-characters.
I also find it ironic when bronies act “much superior/better” then Sonic fans when they do all the same things Sonic fans do to.
Haha yeah.
Well, just ‘cause it doesn’t have that tag, doesn’t mean there’s no drama at all in the comments. There’s a li’l bit, (like the unneeded Sonic fandom-bashing below from Aponty) but it’s peanuts compared to what we usually get on the site.

It basically started as a “sonic meets WH40k” and according to the writers they came to the realization that this is a stupid idea and decided to turn it into a parody. The world it takes place in is referred to as Mobius and the art is very reminiscent of the sonic art, especially in earlier stripes.
Thing is they were trying for a long time to get away from the source materials, with both the most blatant 40k parallels being changed or underplayed and the art shifting into a new style.
So basicly this comic seems to strand the line between fanart and simply being inspired by a source.
facepalm.jpg.
Basically, it’s a bit of Sonic crossed with a bit of Warhammer 40k and a lot of black humor. It’s Sonic at base (the planet is Mobius) but the hedgehog only shows up once, in a gag strip.
Even ignoring the subject matter, none of the things you linked me to were any good. I consider the way the art in the first thing in particular was done to be a bane upon digital art in general. It crops up loads of places, of course. Not just in Sonic.
The second image was passable.
Well, you’re insisting all Sonic fanart is bad no matter what, and it’s obvious no matter how “good” a Sonic fanart piece is that I (or anyone else) shows you, you’ll just say it’s bad no matter what, so there’s really no point debating it. You’re just being biased.
(So not going to argue with you anymore.)
If you hate Sonic, just admit it, no big deal, I don’t care, but let those of us that do like the blue
rodenterinaceidae, enjoy his series.I admittedly prefer Super Mario, believe it, or not.
@ender1200
I never read it, so I wouldn’t know. If it takes place in Sonic’s universe, or home planet, (Mobius, depending on the continuity, the games nowadays depict him from earth) then I guess it could be Sonic-related. If not, then it’s just an unrelated comic.
Both?
Wouldn’t that be if I actively sought out Sonic content to disparage or went to Sonic-related things and expressed my distaste to the fans there?
Congratulations!
I’m tempted to interpret this as sarcasm
even though it’s probably not
and reminded that I should indicate sarcasm with “/sarcasm” or something since it isn’t so clear in plaintext
Is Exterminatus Now considered a sonic or general furry webcomic? ‘Cuase if it’s sonic than it is the best sonic fanpice i have seen in my life.
yes
wow
I am impressed by your argument
you win all of the internets
comparing a twenty second drawing to a several hour softshaded shitcraft of a character that would be impossible to draw in the style of the twenty second drawing in an even remotely appealing way
I understand that you would want to defend the thing that you like, but woooow.
Out of the three images you linked me to, the one that’s closest to being decent is the second one. Decently constructed and posed motion there, and the softshading isn’t nearly as overblown as in the first one. The third image is an overtly stiff attempt at doing the same thing, and it just ends up making Sonic’s noodlearms even more conspicuous than normal. The first image has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
You think those are bad? Kinda funny coming from somebody who went through the trouble to upload this masterpiece. >>475687 :P
If that’s the best you can show me, then yes. It’s all bad.
So wait, you’re telling me every single Sonic fanwork is bad?
Whatever, I still disagree, as I said I have seen some cool things Sonic fans have made to balance out the rubbish. Same with bronies, I’ve seen both good, and bad things from them, as well.
If I were being generous I’d say that only 99% of Sonic fanworks are total shit.
But I don’t feel all that generous today.
and the really bad Sonic fanworks are the worst of the worst
I disagree, ever heard of “Sonic the Hedgehog 2 HD?” That’s quite impressive fan work, right there.
Not to mention some fan-animations are quite good. The “Sonic Shorts” parodies are pretty funny to. So I think it’s quite unfair to say all Sonic fan-works are bad.
I am, yes. But with the Sonic fandom it’s 100%.
You really don’t know about “rule 95%”, do you?
