From TvTropes:
A woman is shown as weak, incompetent, and ineffectual unless she dresses and behaves in a masculine manner, or is otherwise applauded for being “not like other girls.”

Yeah, good thing I never said that, it almost sounds like you were accusing me of something I never even implied. But I’d say all those TV shows were the antagonists are either popular, pretty or fashion-oriented might contribute to that mindset, or that little thing were women who dates many people are frowned upon or something like that.

That source tends to be (for lack of a better term) other girls. Women are just as capable of petty , vindictive competitiveness and self-righteousness as men are, don’t fool yourself into thinking otherwise.

Ok, that’s more understandable. The the thing is, this picture refers to a concept, which I suppose (based on the other comments) is foreign to people outside of tumblr. Not knowing that beforehand is not your fault at all, but on the other hand, you did make your post right under a clarification of what the pic was about.

If I had come across this picture on google images, should I have tried to facebook post it to see if my interpretation of thing picture was correct? Did the artist bothered to leave any sort of restrictive designation against peoples whose imagination does not align with their own?

And what makes the opinion in the comments section any more correct then my own?

I thought this was art, which was meant to be interpreted by people. Not some kind of empirically based instruction manual.
