Question, if somebody drew Applejack bashing Atheists, or Atheists beliefs, would you still find it funny? Just a thought. That’s what seeing this is like to me, but I don’t think you can comprehend that.
 
As I already stated, I can take a joke sometimes, and I like edgy/vulgar humor sometimes, but I already explained why I don’t find this funny, and it’s not just because of “wah wah u insulted me religion, I need thicker skin!” It just always seems like a cheap form of comedy to me. You can’t tell me you weren’t expecting it to not offend anybody. There’s a difference between good edgy comedy, and just pissing all over others’ belief systems.
 
Plus, you’re portraying a believed pony character as having the same opinion/idealology as you, which is ridiculous, ‘cause real world religions don’t exist in the show, and such. (See? I can separate things from my personal religious beliefs…)  
Like I said it’d be like having Derpy spouting political commentary for no reason like bashing the president… It just looks silly with ponies.
 
How is burning Christians, (and Mormons, and Muslims’) holy text, NOT being hateful/spiteful? It’d be as obnoxious as seeing a crazy religious-fanatic burning science books, or Harry Potter books, ‘cause “they’re evil,” and such… (And for that matter, I believe in both God, and science. I hate it when people claim you can’t believe in both, and NO I don’t want to debate about my personal beliefs… So don’t start any of the “science VS religion” stuff for me. I my have reasons to believe in the things I do, same as I’m sure you have reasons to not believe in what I do.)
 
I just don’t find it funny, or see the comedy in it. Also, if you have a right to disagree with, or even bash my beliefs, then people like me have a right to criticize your artwork, and have our own opinions to.
 
Though, honestly I don’t really wish to get into this any further… (As we’re likely just going to get on each other’s nerves. So don’t expect anything more from me on the subject.)  
Draw whatever you want, I’m not going to stop you, but you were an artist I actually liked, and honestly I can’t say I have that much respect for you anymore, if you’re just going to keep drawing ponies soapboxing for you, or Rainbow Dash flying into the WTC…
 
I’m fine with politcally-incorrect humor, and all, but you don’t seem very good at it if the best you can do is “lol Twilight burning Bibles iz funny.” Maybe I just don’t think that’s funny personally, but if you do, that’s your business, and I don’t care what you think of me, or my beliefs.  
Just don’t be surprised if other people don’t care for them either, or find them annoying.

Saying “religion is stupid” for no apparent reason does not infringe on free speech.
 
It can, however, make you sound like a colossal ass. This effect is compounded by the use of a wholly unrelated cartoon pony (whose creator would not approve this message at all) to deliver the message, showing that you either want attention from this fandom (making you an obnoxious troll) or don’t see enough value in the statement unless you have a well-liked character make it for you (making you insecure and a bit of a hypocrite).
 
In short, please stop. My faith in humanity is rapidly approaching zero as is.

“Free speech” and the “right to free speech” are two separate things. Being banned for saying something offensive obviously does not infringe on your free speech rights. However, censoring something because it’s offensive is anti-free speech.  
There are reasonable limitations to free speech. Death threats are one of them. Saying “religion is stupid” is not one of them.

Yeah, I know internet bans don’t fall under the first amendment and some people here aren’t American anyway. But Derpibooru’s the primary MLP image archive. Deleting artwork, even low-quality or unintelligent artwork, would make that archive less complete.

Unfortunately, that would be a double standard- eliminating anyone who says something we don’t like, exactly as this image says we should. As the saying goes: “You are entitled to your opinion and I am entitled to say you’re an idiot.”

People seem to be extremely hateful of the idea that there might actually be people who take comfort in believing in something, and that there is nothing wrong with that.
 
This is a show about positive messages and being friendly and supportive, and yet people are all-too-eager to act like smug douchebags.
 
You know what? No. Fuck that. This shit needs to stop. Anyone who makes this spiteful, bigoted, borderline KKK-level intolerant bullshit or supports it needs to be booted out of the community ASAP. People who seriously agree with this need to be shown in no uncertain terms that they are not welcome. Not here or anywhere else.

I don’t have much to say about this picture. It’s hard to think of anything to say. I was going to downvote it and move on, but then I saw how many people in the comments supported it. Arrogance is not a virtue, it is a crippling and all-too-common flaw. Hopefully this image and the sentiment it puts forward will soon disappear. If you think acting like this is going to be good for anyone, just know that at least one person on this site is unable to articulate properly how much you disappoint him.

Well, it somewhat undermines the “it’s a joke so shut up and take it” part. Of course, the practice of jokingly doing things you hate to attack another group you hate is pretty unconvincing in any case.

One half comes from the out-of-character religuous-text burning, while ironically (or maybe it’s not so ironic) having a direct link of communication to God (or the closest thing to it).  
The other half of the humour comes from the imminent butthurt.

Lighten up, can’t you take a joke? You’re taking this way too personally. This is what every atheist thinks: that you’re wrong. I just happened to put it in a more vulgar way. It is not an attack on you or Christians, it is only this statement: religions are all false. If you can’t separate yourself from your ideologies, then the joke is on you. Grow thicker skin.  
It is not equivalent to Mel Gibson spouting anti-Semitic opinions. I am not hating on Christians.

Why should I arbitrarily respect someone’s belief? I can respect the person, and the fact that they hold that belief. However, ideas don’t deserve respect: they should be able to hold their own. Besides, the Bible and the Qur’an both agree on something heinous: that I should be put to death. How could I even begin to respect something that tells me that I deserve to be killed?
 
PS. I don’t have to make religions look bad. They make themselves look bad.  
PPS. I can still say you’re being stupid on a single issue, without meaning you’re stupid all-around. I don’t believe religious people have rationally justified reasons for their superstitious beliefs, but that doesn’t mean I’m attacking you or your character. 99% of my family is Catholic.  
PPPS. This image isn’t necessarily atheistic. Deists can make the same claim.

I don’t find it funny when people say Atheists are dumb, or something. So I just don’t get that logic, I guess. Plus like I said below it’s kinda disheartening seeing an artist I like bashing my religion, and who I am. It’s like seeing Mel Gibson bash Jews, or something…
 
Don’t get me wrong, I can take criticism, or an edgy joke sometimes, or shrug off a religious joke I don’t dig usually, (In fact, didn’t mind the “religious” humor in say “History of the World” that much, like the musical “Spanish Inquisition” scene, which I will admit was funny) and I’m not one of those political-correctness endorsing types. (Some offensive/vulgar/edgy humor can be funny if done correctly.)
 
This is just a silly biased pic, that isn’t even trying to be as humorous as it is insulting.  
It’s just Twilight burning holy books with a smug expression saying our beleifs are “B.S”… Not something I’ll be wetting my pants over… I’ve honestly seen funnier edgy humor.
 
Plus as people said below I don’t like seeing people using pony characters to enforce their touchy/biased opinions, or be used as “mouthpieces”… It looks silly.

The thing about this joke is it’s suppose to be a bad joke on purpose. It’s funny because it would never actually happen. It’s why I like this image. Sure, I’m an atheist, but I’m perfectly neutral until some religion tries it’s best to make me look like a horrible person. That’s when I get upset.

I think that right there is why I became an atheist. I just saw no reason that a god exist. Everything that’s been use to explain a god is just nature. Plants and animals adapting and evolving, Weather patters and sea currents, Even the bible doesn’t account everything, like half of the world until Mormonism (good cover.) plus fossil evidence that tell the world is older then the bible claimed, plus all the owning and beating of salves as long as they don’t die, stoning of homosexuals.
 
I don’t think you can be a Christian and just cherry pick what you like out of the bible, Hell that’s why there’s so many diversions of Christianity! So unless you believe in all the bad as well as good, you’re not really a Christian, I think you’re just taking the title to feel apart of something.
