I don’t know, Applebloom’s still a kid so she can’t always be right, or the voice of reason. Sometimes Applejack is right, sometimes Applebloom is. The way I see it, Applejack isn’t that bland, and can be right/wrong about some things to, and both are smarter then some fans give them credit for.
 
Plus Applebloom leaving her shrunken sister in the forest full of carnivores was kinda irresponsible itself when you think about it… So Applebloom isn’t always competent.

@Beau Skunky I really hope we see more of Gossipbloom. She needs to return to being the more level-headed Apple. Honestly it seems they feel AJ has had such a bland personality that they give bits AB would have done to her. I think the Filli Vanilli episode summary would have been funnier coming from Bloom instead of Jack. Like “I’m only 8-11 but I’ve already seen muh fambly act like such dumbheads this ain’t new to me!”

“Build-a-Bear also came out with Sweetie & Scootaloo plushes recently for the kids, but not one of Applebloom, OR her big sister Applejack.
 
The merch’ seems oddly biased against our southern-accented ponies… I blame the liberal media. (J/K)  
Also, don’t forget Applebloom had a small part in “Bridle Gossip.” (Which was before she met her fellow CMCs.)

Continuing that thought: As of right now, Scootaloo has 19,753 images on Derpibooru, Sweetie Belle has 18,069, and Apple Bloom has 17,798. This, despite Apple Bloom having an approximate 50% advantage in number of episodes she’s appeared in.

I’d say the CMC are about equal co-stars of “One Bad Apple”, actually; “Somepony to Watch Over Me” would work in its place, though.

Maybe overshadowed in the fandom?
 
A lot of folks seems to lavish attention on either Scootaloo because of their various headcanons, or Sweetie Belle because of her cuteness.
 
But that’s just I’ve noticed. Which is a shame, because Apple Bloom is my favorite of the 3.

Based just on appearances in episodes:  
Apple Bloom: 51/91  
Sweetie Belle: 37/91  
Scootaloo: 34/91
 
And given that there are more episodes with Apple Bloom as the main character when the other CMC are involved, Family Appreciation Day, The Cutie Pox, One Bad Apple, etc.
