okay, allow me to revise that last comment. seems that i was under the impression that rooney had some sort of involvement in the “our gang” shorts, turns out it was just the “andy hardy” shorts.

it’s almost unbelievable to me that the guy started his showbusiness career in 1922 and was technically active until his death. that’s before three of my grandparents were even born, five years before the first commercially successful film with integrated sound. i’d almost consider it a privilege that he lived as long as he did; as far as i know, he was the very last mainstream silent-era actor in existence. good night, sweet prince, and may flights of rascals sing thee to thy rest.

Rooney’s gone? A shame, but he was getting up there in age so que sera sera.

Damn. He lived a long and amazing life, though.

Well, he was 93. Pretty sad news but not exactly surprising.

Nothing really. I mentioned the Undertaker because to me, it feels that more people are thinking more about the end of a win streak in professional wrestling over the death of a legendary Hollywood actor.
