Yes, but to say just because she discovered the main ingredient and was the one that taught it to Pinkie means it’s just her recipe and not a family recipe is no more right then to think it is indeed a family recipe created by her and at lest one of the other members of the Pie family.
That’s the pickle. It’s called a family recipe but it uses ingredients that Maude has recently discovered so how is it a family recipe? And it’s true we don’t know if Maude is the creator, the fact is that she KNOWS it because she taught it to Pinkie Pie. Given that she also discovered the main ingredient, it’s not far fetched that she created the recipe as well
Well it doesn’t say that Maud came up with it in the first place, just she found he rocks used, so it never says Maud was the creator, it could of been there father that created the recipe.
Tell me where it said who created the recipe?
It only said Maud taught Pinkie and found the rocks, nothing more.
Pinkie isn’t the recipe’s co creator since she only knows it because Maude taught it to her. It’s Maude’s recipe, it’s not a family recipe since it hasn’t been handed down, it’s recently created, therefore Maude still deserves the credit.
My Grandmother had a pound cake recipe that my entire family adored and most of us know the recipe. It’s still however, my Grandmother’s recipe since it’s creation is relatively recent and hasn’t gone beyond the current generation of my family yet. When I teach it to my children, then I can properly call it a family recipe.
>Clearly you’ve never been an elder sibling.
I wish I wasn’t.
No it’s implied that Maud AND Pinkie are the recipe’s CREATORS.
It was never said to be know only to them, Pinkie said the two of them used to make them all the time, she said it was made with the rocks Maud found, but she never said it was JUST them making it and it wasn’t known to the rest of the family, it is fact implies her whole family knows it.
It’s still an improper title if Maude is implied to be the recipe’s creator. It would be proper for it to have been called Maude’s recipe, not a Pie family recipe. It can be a recipe the Pie family knows but it’s still Maude’s recipe.
Pinkie calling it family recipe already implies that the whole family knows it.
If you think otherwise, well, it’s just your headcanon.
Oh shut up
Because it’s just impossible that Pinkie once asked her to help with something candy-related, she initially refused, and when pressed decided to find something most inline with her preferences.
Clearly you’ve never been an elder sibling.
She discovered the rock. Who made the recipe to utilize that rock was never implied
And even if she doesn’t like candy, it has been shown that she is willing to do a lot things for her sister, including something as simple as a candy recipe.
It’s not a “family” recipe if there’s only two people practicing it. For it to be a family recipe, the entire Pie family must know it. Yes it can be said that we don’t know if the rest of the family knows the recipe or not but to call it such when it’s Maude’s creation and only Muade and Pinkie Pie seem to know makes it an erroneous title.
Namely that Maud turned out to be freaking Toph…
Once again, a “family recipe” has to start somewhere, if it’s something sheared in later years with only members of the Pie family then it is one, but all family recipes started with just one or two people.
So she was still right.
@Grieffon
That really just makes it Maude’s recipe to start with or it would have been better for Pinkie to say: “A Pie family recipe Maude created”.
For Pinkie to call it a Pie family recipe off the bat when only Pinkie and Maude practice it is just wrong.
Well, family recipe has to start somewhere, why not when Maud discovered the secret rock?
All “family recipes” have to start somewhere, so she’s not wrong.
That makes no sense because if it’s a Pie family recipe, that means it’s been around longer than Maude and her discovery
Now everybody knows.
