Something else about those gifts…while gifts are given by those who are inspired by the particular character’s traits, it seems the mane six character undergoes a trial of her own. Twilight wasn’t faced with any such trial or critical decision this episode. She was present to support the story, but I don’t feel she was the focus. She seems rather sure-footed (sure-hooved?) and confident in all she did this time around. It does open up some interesting possibilities later, though. (Advanced studies with Sweetie Belle, Sweetie using her magic in other episodes.)
 
I admit I’m really curious how Twilight’s key will play out. I also suspect that she will be the last among the mane six to get her key.

Okay, then. Explain to me what possible lesson Twilight will receive about Magic and Friendship after comprehending them so completely that she ascneded to a new level of physical existence.

And what about the fact that the episodes in question have so far focused on the Character about to get her key AND taught her a lesson that reaffirms her most defining character trait? You know, the entire point of these episodes?
 
Thinking that a CMC episode would give any of them a key is nonesense.

Because it fits the pattern of seemingly innocuous items being given to the Mane Six by ponies who have learned the associated virtue? Sweetie Belle alone would make the flower an appropriate Key of Magic, and the three of them learning not to exploit connections make it a suitable Key of Friendship.

Season 3 (“Babs Seed” episode) was when she had that brief magical spurt, I think. Though, yeah it was a cute concept.

I was hoping so much that Twilight would help teach Sweetie Belle how to use her magic. This makes me so very happy!

I want to fave that comment. It made me smile!

I like how Sweetie Belle’s magic matches her eye-color. That idea was one of the more clever concepts to come out of Season 2.
