If you notice other books you like but they’re not available for print, you might have to look for them on Amazon or Ebay or something, as not all books are currently available for re-print.
Like I said, I can recommend other supplements based on what you want to read about and do in your chronicle. For example, World of Darkness: Armory is basically a book of weapons, armor, equipment, tools and vehicles, and Vampire the Requiem: Nomads is a book about playing a Nomadic Vampire, which you can then mix with World of Darkness: Midnight Roads for rules and content for playing characters on the road.
Also, depending on where you live and who handles the printing in your zone, you may occasionally get blemishes on the books, such as gashes on pages, bent/damaged covers or the pages being all wavey. If this happens you can contact DriveThru RPG with photos of the imperfections and they will then ask you for a code on the book, they can then replace the book for you or give you store credit at your option.
How much would it cost to get these all together?
Any bundles you could reccommend?
If you’re wondering what books besides the core rulebooks would be helpful in getting started, I have a personal recommendation of supplements which I always tell people of when they express an interest in getting into WoD, including a Vampire essentials list. Here is what books I recommend without getting too specialized if you’re wanting to get into Vampire and perhaps start your own Chronicle.
World of Darkness core rulebook(New WoD)/Chronicles of Darkness.
Vampire: The Masquerade - V20 Core Rulebook (V20 = 20th anniversary)
Vampire: The Requiem - Core Rulebook 2nd Edition
Vampire Translation Guide
Vampire: The Requiem - The Danse Macabre (Also discusses Vampire Conspiracies, introduced in Hunter below)
Vampire: The Masquerade - Lore of the Clans
Hunter: The Vigil (for lore and info on Human Hunter enemies/allies and their dealings with Vampires, as well as info on Conspiracies)
Hunter: The Vigil - Nightstalkers (a Hunter book dealing especially with Vampires)
Vampire: The Requiem - Lore of the Covenants is also a book they have in the works.
I can also recommend other supplements for special topics on request. For example, World of Darkness - Mysterious Places has info on strange and specialized locations for exploration and lairs, such as underground, in dark forest and other strange and out of the way places. Or if you want to deal with ghosts, check out Geist: The Sin Eaters, Wraith: The Oblivion and World of Darkness - Book of the Dead.
NP.
Heh. I am familiar with such foolishness, I ignore it with ease. Thank you kindly for you help.
Just a warning though, you may(or may not) come across certain kinds of people who are petty enough to favor one WoD over the other and to take on a “brand war” approach to the other. Try not to engage these people at all and just ignore them. If you find yourself on a community which requires membership and has moderation staff, the chances of encountering these people is low, but they do exist.
I’ve seen a few people online try to get into WoD only for the experience to be ruined by these kinds of people, so I feel I should warn people now and encourage them to make up their own minds.
Both WoD have their merits and detractors and don’t let anyone try to tell you to take a side.
@Lawful Girly
AWESOME. THANK YOU.
Go to roll20.net, or to the Giant in the Playground forums, or a whole bunch of other RP forums. Trust me, if they’re signed up to play a game, they have access.
I don’t know about any online game sessions, I actually used to play it in-person with friends. Playing online would require everyone to somehow have access to the reading material/rules, which is possible, but not easy.
Indeed. I have always been vaguely familiar with the series. But the “Old World” was too dark and dismal for my taste.
I actually think my familiarity with it came from the VtM computer game. Which I have no idea now how or why I got as I was not as into the supernatural back then.
I have read up on the series on TVTropes. I am most intrigued by the New/Chronicles. Especially since most of it is left up to the storyteller.
I either want to use a Demon Character from the official or a Prince from the fanwork.
Do you know where game sessions can be found?
I read the actual physical books themselves. You could find them online if you wanted, though, both for purchase or if you’re unscrupulous, for free. I’d recommend looking up the books on DriveThru RPG. If you’re new to the franchise you’d need to be able to distinguish between Old and New World of Darkness.
OLD
Vampire - The Masquerade. Which focuses very heavily on Vampire history. Perhaps too much to the point where there is no mystery.(which was one of the main complaints) This version of Vampire has more Clans involved. Also focuses on inter-clan politics and unity.
NEW
Vampire - The Requiem. Which focuses on the Vampires themselves and the choices they make, as well as the politics of the groups they form and join. Has fewer Clans, but has lots of Bloodlines, and more Covenants to join.
I find that both have their strengths and weaknesses, and I prefer to cover those up by combining the two.
I will also point out that recently Old World of Darkness was re-branded “Classic World of Darkness” and New World of Darkness was re-branded “Chronicles of Darkness”, with “World of Darkness” encompassing both as a brand.
What people will have to realize before they delve in, though, is that it is a storytelling game, it is not a comic book series or a series of literature with an arcing, cohesive history and canon and story-lines. What is canon is up to the storyteller, and being creative and even changing what you’re provided with is encouraged by the writers. You’re supposed to be telling your own stories, not just re-telling existing ones.
There are translation guides which allow you to merge the two versions together in various ways, so I’d recommend deciding which parts of Old and New you like the most and then add to the with supplements which cover topics you’re interested in. For example, someone who likes the Malkavean Clan and is interested in topics of the psyche and madness, may wish to look into the book World of Darkness - Asylum, which covers topics such as madness, disease and health, insane asylums and hospitals. Someone interested in military or mercenary approaches may wish to look into the book World of Darkness - Dogs of War, as well as World of Darkness - Armory and it’s sequel book. Someone interested in Crime might look into the book World of Darkness - Mafia.
World of Darkness operates on a multiverse system anyway(see Mage and the book Mirrors”, so everything is canon in some way. This is most evident in the Mage settings.(Mage - The Ascension and Mage - The Awakening, which are the best depictions of magic in fiction)
Quite a wall of text, but I hope some of this has been helpful to anyone who has been thinking of getting into the World of Darkness series. It’s really good and there is a lot of material to work with and read, as well as new books still being made.

Where? Via internet?
Incidentally, good news, potentially: White Wolf has now been bought by Paradox Interactive, this Halloween, who say they absolutely intend to make not only Vampire games but also ones for those other franchises. Fingers crossed for that Werewolf one we were supposed to get, and also that they don’t shut down the Onyx Path.
Pinkie Pie is even more obviously malkavian.
Tzimishy… you know it to be true.
The PC.
@Ertinax
Would that make Shimmer Ming Xiao?
Sounds right to me.
And let’s not forget about the Great and POWERFUL Trixie, Technocracy Operative extraordinaire
