when she left

She never liked it when they leave.
but then again, Ponies always do
whether it would be to study, or to train, or for business..
She would always find herself wishing she could join them.
The life of the party was feeling lifeless. her best friend
was leaving and she wasn’t sure when…. if she would come back.
Rainbow Dash assured it would be for just a few weeks,
thinking everything would be fine.
Applejack reassured her that “RD will be back before ya know it, sugar-cube”
the sincerity in her voice clear.
so why?
why did she feel so alone?
Rainbow dash was quite possibly the only one who truly understood her,
yet…
there were a lot of things left unsaid on that day.
things that circle around her head.
phrases like “stay with me” and “please don’t go”.
but in the end, she never opened her mouth.
instead she simply embraced her friend, wished her good luck, and then turned away.
it’d had been a month.
a long cold month.
autumnal leaves slowly falling to the ground.
Dust kicked up but fillies and colts during their lunch break.
it pained her to watch all this from her room in sugar-cube corner.
She tried so hard to smile, and she had gotten pretty good at it too.
but in the end, all dams must break under pressure.
so, she sat at a table. hair deflated, tears running down her cheeks, a cyan hoodie on to remind her of who she was waiting for.
And one steaming cup of coffee.
