To a point, yeah, it takes a lot of elements form that kind of thing and then ramps it up to 11.

Gameplaywise it’s pretty heavy on technical combo stuff, but it’s not too hard for someone to buzz through if they’re bad at that (though some reviewers make out like the controls are impossible, ugh.)

The boss fights are also glorious.
