I thought the only thing said was that Twilight would not outlive her friends: nothing besides that about twilight or cadence’s life spans.
I consider the comics and chapter books “optional canon;” if I want certain aspects of it to be canon, I consider it canon. If I DON’T want certain aspects of it to be canon, I consider it non-canon.

and no, the comics are not canon because of the difference of when the comics and episodes are written, they can’t coordinate with each other, making it really easy for continuity errors to happen if you did consider the comics canon.

Yeah well I still think their growing into it, as for the origin, I like it.The book Is probably the closest were gonna get to a origin story for her so I’ll take it for now.

Anyway, I believe that only Luna and Celestia are immortals, since they still need to do the sun and moon. Wouldn’t the flowing manes be a sign of immortality, which Twilight and Cadance lack?

It’s hard to place if Cadence really is immortal,I assume she was only recently ascended from her Pegasus origins when we first saw her(which explains her shorter appearance,akin to Twilights current Growth ) and to debate her immortally would connect to Twilights possibility of immortally as well…its all complicated and the only bible we have is the show..or Lauren Faust I guess.
If she was immortal, why the hell did she marry him in the first place? Wouldn’t she expect to outlive him, unless she was one of those ponies who would marry other stallions each time they grew old and died?
One could could argue that it’s their royal duty to produce a heir for their kingdom…but if Cadence is really immortal…then their would really be no point now would there?
