apple bloom, a filly, bucked a tree once as easily as applejack or big macintosh and she’s probably the youngest character in the show. i believe it was during “super speedy cider squeezy 6000”.

Rainbow Dash specifically works out to be the top athlete or to compete with AJ. At any other point, the other pegasi are shown to be nowhere near as strong as her, on the ground or in the air. At least, none of them have shown the drive that Rainbow does.

Big Mac always seemed to be something of an exception. He’s bigger in build. Cheerilee, though, under the same influence in the same episode, demolished a barricade with little effort, and she’s an earth pony mare.
 
I think one of Lauren’s early dA replies/tweets had her mention that earth ponies are stronger and more durable since they handle land work and the like.

Big Mac pulled a house. During winter wrap up a bunch of them are plowing snow at a trotting pace while Twilight can’t even make it budge (granted she’s not athletic, but she couldn’t make it move even a little).
 
It’s not explicitly canon but I think it’s a pretty ubiquitous head canon that they’re stronger at least.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash are both considered to be “top athletes”. Sure, Rainbow can fly and is faster, but what about raw muscle power?
 
They can both do ABOUT 100 push-ups without cheating. They’re pretty even at hoof wrestling. AJ has only a slight lead at the long jump (without cheating).
 
AJ has stronger HIND legs, but her chest and foreleg strength is almost perfectly on par with Rainbow’s. If earth ponies are supposed to have an innate strength advantage, I’m not seeing it.

Pegasi might be stronger because of the military thing, but that might also be in terms of using weapons; the guards spread their wings out with a sound of a sword unsheathing and it’s implied at one point they’ve carried lances in the Hearth’s Warming Eve pageant. While that might be true, earth ponies would have the actual strength needed to lift and carry other ponies, as otherwise a pegasus can’t carry more than one pony or lift and carry something very heavy unless it was carried in something that could fly.

^ Actually, Pegasus have been displayed to be the strong ones in the show, and have the history of being the warrior culture race.
 
Twilight also carried the mane 6, plus Spike in Castle Maneia.
