Dunno, just seems kinda out of left field to me, given the fan-comic’s nature ‘till then, and a surprisingly dark turn. It’s a decent fan comic aside from that, but I wouldn’t say it’s better then the official IDW series honestly.
Still, one concept I like about it is this new version, and redesign/reimagining of Whimsey Weatherbe, an older MLP Gen character. I like seeing older characters come back from previous canons, and such in these kinda series.
I got that a bit backwards, heh
@Beau Skunky Not really out of character for an empress though. Her expression also seems to say this is more of a dragon’s way of whapping an upstart on the head with a newspaper. It looks like Celestia’s face when she’s reprimanding Twilight in Lesson Zero.
She is just way to calm about it. It’s more like “remember how powerful we are, and even with this power we place this much importance on this position” than “Come back or I burnify this town for the lulz to watch ponies squeal in terror!”
Also, I don’t think Karzahnii’s comics are that “flawless,” later in this fan-comic when the oddly pleasant-looking dragon is blackmailing Whimsey threatening to genocide an entire town of ponies if she doesn’t do as she says later in this comic felt a bit out of left-field to me…
I like the official comics. :P
Also, this is adorable.
Yeah, shame, it’d be funny if she got on Spike’s nerves, or something. (But I guess the artist doesn’t wanna give people “shipper fuel,” or something.)

Agreed, it’s pretty good, and it’s nice to see a reimagined old MLP character. It’s a shame we never get any “new” characters based off of older MLP generations. (Like saying bringing back an old villain, and making a new version of them, or something. Like what the new Nick TMNT is doing.)
