True, so it still doesn’t give you 100%, which you still have to get on your own.
@HighRollerHydra
I guess that is a li’l annoying, but in the end they’re just sparkles, and as stated those helper items are just optional, (and you need to die ALOT in order to unlock them, so they don’t just hand them out) and easily ignorable.
Admittedly, I did restart my “Super Mario 3D Land” save file, just to get the sparkles. (Can’t complain, as it is a fun game, so I didn’t mind playing through it again.)
But as I said, if it encourages Nintendo to make harder levels in Mario games, without fear of turning off younger gamers who fear anything “hard,” then I’m all for it.
Don’t be so butthurt over an item that let’s you beat the levels easily. When presented just ignore. Its not that hard.
Besides, if you DO use the item you won’t be able to unlock the hidden levels and get perfect completion on the game (New Super Mario Bros. 2) unless replayed back and beaten on your own.
They hate easy things. And back then, you didn’t get a save file that forfeited sparkling stars if you used an item that got you through the level.
If they encourage Nintendo to not nerf their game’s difficulty when making new games, then I’m fine having these assist items for beginners/children.
In Super Mario 3D Land, however, if you beat the game without using it, not only does the Block NOT appear in the Special World, but the stars in your profile stay sparkling forever.
“I know it is optional”
You can always just ignore it if it pops up, you know…
When you can’t complete a level, you have to think about how you move throughout the level and change your strategy. It’s all about trial and error. I just hate what they are doing now. :/
The worst part about it is that it causes the stars next to your save file to stop sparkling EVEN IF YOU DON’T ACTUALLY USE IT.
