Life in the Crystal Empire had changed, now it was also the residence of the Sovereign of the kingdom (Princess Luna)  
Their usually peaceful routine had become agitated, every morning there was a great commotion in the streets, every day new ponies coming and going from other cities of the kingdom  
But Princess Cadance had delegated its functions to a council, because you are not in a position to lead and manage the fate of the city  
It had started when Dimness Void, now called the Great Traitor, had turned her darkness magic infecting the souls and hearts of her people  
All their (Shining’s and hers) attempts to restore the love and happiness in the Empire, even the magic of Crystal Heart, were useless, it was clear that she did not affect the power of light, it is just was confined to corrupt beings and bring shadows and despair  
But when Cadance and Shining saw in the distance a huge rainbow spread, the curse that afflicted his subjects was fading, then from the center of sacred power, she saw a beam shot out toward the sky, to turn into a red star  
It was then that both received and organized a ceremony in honor of the Heroes of Harmony, the six brave stallions that bearing the Elements of Harmony had defeated and banished the Great Traitor, saving everyone from the Eternal Horror  
Then the Princess of the Night, summoned and made them a painful revelation, the Great Traitor was Twilight Sparkle, then Shining broke, Cadance was overwhelmed by the news  
Luna asked them if they wished, she would give them the Oblivion Spell but warned them not to mention her again to anyone, because tomorrow morning she would use her magic to all the other ponies forget Twilight and the Great Traitor  
For several days, Shining was plunged into sorrow and despair, had locked himself in trying to figure out what would have motivated her to commit such outrage  
Cadance did not understand as evil could be grown in her heart, always considered Twilight as a little sister and always had thought she was a star, though distant but always bright  
Several weeks later  
Shining and Cadance talked and finally decided to try to overcome it together, as they both hugged and cried while seeing the Red Star
