If I can share my own experiences. The sensation is pretty nice when you’ve got a whirlpool of nasty states going on in your head. I wouldn’t exactly call it a high or numbness, though I can see what’s trying to be described. The only (non) word I can think to call it is “Squinjing” ik it sounds weird but that’s the best name I can come up with. To me at least, it kinda feels like your brain is being wrung out like a greasy sponge, like your brain is being physically contorted every which way but you feel, in a way, cleaner afterward. You don’t forget or really accept what’s going on that drove you to it but the thought stops haunting you for a while. I so hope this wall of text makes sense to a “normal” person.

I’m just curious why exactly it is addictive for some people, it never seemed intresting
If they are attention seekers, why do you think most would attempt to hide it, for example, by wearing long sleeves?
There are physiological and psychological mechanisms by which self-harm can be addictive for depressed/stressed minds. More information can be found by Google.
A really smart suicial person would jump off the Grand Canyon. That way in their last moments they experience a falling freedom few know and can livin up boring family vacation photos
I’ve been suicidal before, so I tried self-harming. But it hurt too much. I tried, but I could not see the appeal. I can only see it being something for masochists or attention seekers. Any smart suicidal person would put plastic bags on their head.
no offense intended
