To be fair, we don’t really know enough about pony society to go with either of you two’s theories…what one race does is always interpreted different in another’s, you know.
It doesn’t matter what size their wings are. The point is that all winged ponies do this for no reason that can be determined.
It’s like you’re trying to say that if a very tall person yawns, it’s a sign of “dominance”. Don’t be absurd.

I don’t think you’ve even noticed the number of times regular pegasi have their wings out for no particular reason. The fact that you’re legitimately trying to apply something from a cartoon to the animal kingdom is more than a little concerning.
