I REALLY love his art style, and I REALLY love this pairing. It’s become my OTP. Twilight Sparkle, from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and Peter Parker, the Amazing Spider-Man, are very similar in terms of personality. They’re both highly intelligent but dense individuals with hearts of gold. They’re different, too. Twilight’s a ‘by the book’ kind of girl, and Peter’s the kind of guy who goes with the flow. Check out my story to see how these two get together, and go check out hinomars19’s artwork.”

On the contrary, considering the setting of the fanfic, it was after the events of ‘The Night Gwen Stacy Died’ so no point of Mary Jane getting jealous, me thinks! :)

I’m not so sure I like this ship… especially since it apparently has EQG involved.
But the story is getting rather decent ratings so I guess I’ll give it a chance.

No matter how decent a character Ben Reilly was, the storyline fell apart and tht was the final time I had stop buying Spider-man books. Four different Spidey books to buy and I dropped that saying “NO MORE!!”

Although Spidey is a emo whine case not many Marvel heroes were much as role models:

Yeah, Tony Stark, we all knew you were a jerk from the beginning and that was cool, but the stuff pulled in Civil War: jerk has evolved into complete douche.

“– scarlet spider (maximum clonage?)?”

Hey, hey, woah, woah now. Look, the Clone Saga was a train wreck, but let’s not take it out on Scarlet Spider. Ben Reilly was a bro, plain and simple. At least HE was trying to be a stand-up guy and was actually in it to actually HELP people and do some real good in the world. All Peter ever uses for his motivation is self-imposed angst and guilt.

“Oh gawd, those people are suffering because I didn’t live up to MY RESPONSIBILITY!”

“Ugh, I hate having this GREAT POWER and all the RESPONSIBILITY it comes with! I just wish I could be a normal person!”

“Nooo! Because I wanted to be a normal person I once again avoided MY RESPONSIBILITY and something terrible happened!”

Dude just keeps on repeating the same cycle of guilt over and over again. I’m pretty much convinced that Peter Parker has one of those mental conditions where he actually gets gratification from being put in a situation where he has to feel like he needs to avenge the people he almost deliberately fails all the time. Or at the very least some degree of post-traumatic embitterment disorder.

Someone doesn’t read the Spider-Man comics, do they? Peter Parker is one of the biggest assholes of all time, and I say that as a fan of Spidey. It’s just a simple fact that he really is a horrible person. He’s self-centered, selfish and entirely self-absorbed, to the point that he basically uses guilt as an excuse to shirk all personal responsibility in life.

There’s a reason he has more enemies than any other superhero, all of whom actually hate him on a personal level - and not just the ‘he gets in my way’ level most heroes and villains don’t get along. I mean his villains really do wish he was dead on a personal vendetta level. Not even OTHER superheroes like him, because he’s such a total jerkass to everyone.

The dude had hope back when Ben Reilly was still around to balance out Peter’s asshat attitude (and believe me, if ya read the Clone Saga stuff, Peter was a colossal ass there, especially) by letting him take time away from being Spidey to y’know, actually be a decent person and spend time with Aunt May and MJ. But every other time? Peter’s a prick, plain and simple.

Don’t worry about it too much, remember that Marvel and DC comics have the all powerful reboot/reset button to use. Otherwise we would be stuck with the ramifications of some really awful comic events:

  • scarlet spider (maximum clonage?)?
  • electro superman?
  • maximum carnage?
  • Hal Jordan killing off the green lantern corp and become Phallex?
  • Peter Parker revealing his identity at a press conference?
  • the whole Civil War thing with Captain America?
  • Frank Miller’s DK2 (compared to his earlier work of Dark Knight Returns)?

The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@RIG
Unfortunately, that’s all too representative of how they treat their customers. There is a reason that Spidey worked for so long. Keep messing with him, and he becomes no longer recognizable as the character he once was. I just wish they’d put the “hero” back in “superhero comics”.

@Astronomus
What the pluperfect Hell? Spidey is a villain, now (antihero toes the line far too close to truly be Spidey)? What the fuck, Marvel? You have but one remaining team of heroes left now, thanks to this mess! What’s next, gonna turn Power Pack too? Ugh. I am so glad I stopped reading “hero” comics years ago. At least I never had to see Spidey make a deal with the devil, sacrificing his love and marriage… XP

You know, I’ve often dreamt about being Spider-man, And now I know why those dreams felt half empty. :l
