The source mentions it as appledash, plus going by the related deviations from the same artist, pretty much (friend)ships the two. You're right in that it is a gray area, but in cases like this whatever the artist says goes through.

Should this really be tagged "lesbian"? For all we know it's just two friends relaxing on a hilltop. Nothing that really proves it's lesbian, anyway.

Actually they were merged at some point. Forgetting the wings on a major focus character of the pic is kinda… big though. Plus there's lots of cases where both pics were kept.

To anyone wondering, this has been one of my all-time favorite pics which got vastly underappreciated because it was accidentally merged with the version that didn't have wings. I would have set it at some point regardless of the twidash and appledash tags being coincidentally nearly equal at this moment.
