Okay, since when has Twilight ever knitted something or modeled? Also, Equestria Girls and the Season 4 premiere shows that Twilight is struggling with flying.
@Itsthinking
Wow, it’s almost like no one here has ever heard of Unicornos.
Nononononononononononononono
I counter that part of the point of KCaFO–and this is very common interpretation–is that Fluttershy had amassed a lot of self-confidence compared to the past. Her one flaw is a cutesy one, and even that is being “remedied” as had been started with AFiD’s shakey conclusion….
Pffft. Celestia makes sure to let everyone know not to tell Twilight about it being named after her, so she doesn’t freak out.
I still wouldn’t call her a Mary Sue because she does have a crippling personality flaw in that she has no self-confidence. She’s successful in most things she puts her mind to, but she never actually does anything noteworthy unless someone forces her into it or one of her friends is in danger. The one time she did become confident in herself, she turned into an unrepentant jerk.
OK, to be brief, she never once had to grapple with failure. Everything she does, be it knitting, modeling, or flight, is successful and top-notch just because she tried. All the other ponies have made significant mistakes and shortcomings. Even Twilight has at points proven herself fallible in comparison. I realize that isn’t necessarily set in stone; how fast she flew in HF for instance was ambiguous. But more importantly, she was absolved of all blame after the violent things she did in AFiD, whereas say the CMC were briefly disowned just for running mean articles.
I’m sure they do now.
They call it Twilight’s Law.
I’d guess brainwashing an entire village into fighting over a doll probably breaks some law.
I’m sorry - what law did she break again? Because I must have missed that part.
Being the personal student and friend of the immortal ruler of the country probably gets you a few pardons.
It was in response to a comment saying Fluttershy of all ponies was a Mary-sue.
And Twilight kinda is. She was ridiculously important from the day she was born, if ACW is any indicator (how many people actually have a Princess for a babysitter?), and she’s apparently above the law, if episodes like Lesson Zero are good examples.
Bad Mayo!

No using that phrase without proper backing!
If anypony is a Mary-sue, it’s Twilight.
I’d like to hear how you reached that conclusion.
FTFY.
You mean, this?

I was talking about the whole “you’re a princess! you’re also a princess! Everyone’s a princess!”
But I take the bees as well.
That’s actually an interesting point. Twilight got her wings due to an unprecedented act of Magic. Shouldn’t Fluttershy reach Alicorn Tier, then, by performing an unprecedented act of Kindness? Like, say, reforming one of the greatest monsters of Equestria’s history? (I’m of course speaking about Angel.)
