Even if there was a slight chance that it took something from Digimon, the reality is: Digimon is pretty much dead. It couldn’t compete so Pokemon gets free reign of the idea bucket. But the way I see it, it’s not officially a rip off of Digimon until 90% of all Mega Evolutions are robots.
