Homosexuality is not a fetish. It’s a preference, a deciding factor of people’s relationships and overall love life. Fetishes are kinks that someone of any sexual orientation can have. I’ve already stated that there are plenty of gay and lesbian pictures and material that is perfectly safe for work and not necessary to filter unless you view same sex relationships with much more hostility than straight ones. Gay couples have the same right to express themselves publicity in the same capacity as straight couples do. If two dudes or two chicks holding hands and kissing on the street makes certain people more uncomfortable than seeing a straight couple do so…1)why 2) go about your own business, or reevaluate your mentality.
Telling someone whose proud, honest and open about loving someone of the same gender to “keep in their bedroom” over things you wouldn’t even bat an eye at if you saw a man and woman doing make you, for lack of a better word…a prick (not you specifically, but this attitude is indefensible, no matter how politely worded).
Also as of now filtering something you don’t want to see takes at most, two to three clicks of a mouse. The website doesn’t need an overhaul over something so simple, let alone for this reason.
They are both sex-related things that two or, I suppose, more people can do in the privacy of their own homes that can make those not interested in the acts feel uncomfortable.
You have given no reasoning for why they should be thought of as different kinds of things.
@Blackbewhite2k7
Nothing, really, which is why I was talking about a larger, more generalized “Choose the things you want to see” page than making explicit rankings for what is acceptable and what isn’t. If you can see why someone would find privileging some fetishes over another annoying when someone wants to specifically target homosexuality, then why can’t you see that other fetishes have every right to be thought of as natural and not as a pathologically “deviant” behaviour, like homosexuality was thought to be back in the day. I don’t think you can really argue that public resistance and hostility has been decreasing alot over the past few generations.
Some consistency and less favouritism is all I’m asking to see here.
On a different note, does anyone remember when two people could exist in the same universe and they wouldn’t be assumed to be sexually attracted to each other?

Contrary conclusion is a level of contempt towards people other sexual orientations that while not outspoken, does draw a line in the sand that distinguish anything outside your norms as “unacceptable, or not the ideal.” Want to filter out gay and lesbian stuff? Fine. But don’t pretend it isn’t influenced by some level of bigotry. It’s really transparent.
Now make out with Twilight. The sun god commands it.
>idiotic debate tag.
This is my new favorite tag
Hard to argue that people are being unfairly dismissive of you when you’re comparing any picture that involves gay or lesbian themes to explicit examples of “r34 explicit and questionable content” like bdsm, scat etc.
There is nothing more “explicit” to same sex relations than there are to heterosexual ones. Both such relationships can be as sweet and innocent, or as sexual and explicit as both partners want it to be. The only reason to reach a
Well, you’ve successfully proved that there are a whole lot of people that are afraid of the consequences of wrongthink like that. When a lot of people are afraid of the consequences of nonoffensive speech like this, then I think that says something very important about the community, or, at least the vocal portions of it.
I agree with you, and say that the “lesbian” and “gay” tags should be filtered by default, just like the “futa” tags and all other r34 explicit and questionable content. You have to manually enable explicit content on this site in order to see it, sort of like doing an age check that’s about two minutes of effort more to get past than a single “click this box to prove you’re over 18” check that’s pretty worthless. If things like scat and necrophilia are filtered by default because they’re niche fetishes, then I don’t see any reason for the other identifiable smut categories to get special treatment.
It’s a known quantity that there are going to be some fetishes that some people really like, some that people don’t mind, and some that people really just want to skip past, so having a more detailed “Which tags to you want to remove from your blacklist?” page would help people in seeing the content they like, and avoid the content they don’t, in an unobtrusive way.
@Squall_Line
From what I’ve observed around the internet especially on tumblr, if it’s at all possible for someone to link whatever you say to one of the bad ideological groups, then they will do so. It works almost like an instant “I win” button because then the conversation shifts away from the actual subject to you trying to defend your reputation from someone who has every motivation to ignore any points you try to make.
It’s an example of social programming and groupthink that has chilling implications.
@Background Pony #E7C2
Would you say that, typically, calls to censor things like vore, scat, or necrophilia are due more to kinkshaming and finding it personally reprehensible rather than just not caring for that fetish? If the line of reasoning behind one sex-related tag is valid, then surely that same line of reasoning is applicable to other sex tags, right?
This isn’t a porn site. People have to specifically choose to allow pornographic images to be viewed, since otherwise people who don’t want to see it might stumble on it. We already have the default tag filtering mechanism in place, so this would be a simple fix.
I don’t know why.
What about this one?
It’s possible that Rainbow Dash has, in fact, seen some shit.
You want everyone to agree with you?
Sorry, I must’ve skipped some parts. Now that you mention it, sorry I labeled you a “homophobe”. I don’t know why the word “homophobe” exists anyway If you’re uncomfortable with that content, I respect you. I’m not saying you can’t be uncomfortable with homosexuality.
For me, it’s not a matter of whether you’re comfortable with homosexuality or not, and it’s not a matter of whether you support homosexuality or not. If anyone’s going to start a flamewar with/troll/act immature towards/personally attack one another so as to violate any rule, no matter how “badass” or “special” they think they are, the mods of this site will deal with that person.
You want to know why calling someone “autistic” is a bannable offense? See this. And this. And then carefully read Rule #0. What Background Pony #FE5C did was a whole lot worse that what Princess♠Molestia did. The reason Princess♠Molestia said that BP was stupid and wrong was because the BP felt that Background Pony #67D5 was right when 67D5 said that the “lesbian” tag should be filtered by default. There’s nothing wrong with disliking homosexual pairings or preferring heterosexual pairings to homosexual ones. But just because you hate homosexual pairings or not everyone likes seeing them does NOT mean tags depicting homosexual relationships should be entirely hidden by default. You’re not automatically a homophobe if you don’t like any homosexual pairing or prefer straight pairings to gay/lesbian ones. (Yes, Squall_Line, I’m looking at you. I respect your preferences by the way.) But wanting the default hiding of the homosexual tags is. FE5C decided to just insult and personally attack Princess♠Molestia, HunterSClopson, and
gasmaskangel just because they disagreed with him/her (hence FE5C’s hidden comments after his/her first comment) and try to start a flamewar and use a name for a group of people with a disorder as an insult (just like the R word I’m not going to say). And I feel what Lampman did here was right.
Now do you understand why? Did I explain enough for you?
Please explain how “http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130404145400/glee/images/4/41/You’re-not-just-wrong-you’re-stupid.gif”
is okay, but references to autism is a bannable offence. I’d very much like to hear it.
That’s enough from you.
Says the person who apparently can’t figure out how to use filters.
“So it’s socially unacceptable to hate on homosexuals, but it’s completely fine to hate and disregard anyone who may feel uncomfortable with it.”
