The actual power levels of Gods in D&D are vague and fluctuating. A powerful Wizard(but still just a Wizard) can imprison or defeat things like Great Demon Lords or Gods. In 4th Edition, several Gods from 3rd Edition were killed by mortals and replaced by them, like Bane and the Raven Queen.

Yeah. Also I made a mistake earlier, Ancalagon is not the biggest deal a Dragon can be. There are a number of Epic/Cosmic Tier Dragons from Dungeons & Dragons that would crush both Deathwing and Ancalagon like bugs at the same time.
 
Like the Nexus Dragon, a Dragon so powerful it has reached abstract levels and is a universal thread, operating beyond the normal constraints of space, time and causality.

Celestia is bucked. Seeing in the show you can’t use magic on dragons. Celestia relies on magic to defeat her enemies so sorry Deathwing is going to char her into a burnt crisp. And so what if she can protect herself. Can she protect all of Equestria was being burned?

Discord does not have the powers of a God, he is just good at magic. Discord is a minor reality warper at best, and has failed several times over and been beaten easily by another villain despite what he can do. He has never shown the ability to affect the world in general beyond his immediate vicinity. Deathwing is literally so fucking powerful he could actually destroy the world and there was only one weapon that could stop him, which had to be acquired from the past via time travel. Deathwing would completely and utterly destroy Discord.

honestly out of all the people you mentioned, the ONLY one who could possibly do shit to deathwing is discord mainly because he has the powers of a god and it would take a god to beat deathwing.

Pitiful excuse for a dragon? That “pitiful excuse for a dragon” was responsible for the near extinction of the Dragonflights including his own and he brought forth the Cataclysm JUST BY WAKING UP, let’s also not forget he was once called Neltharion the Earth-Warder for a reason and it was not for shits and giggles. He can manipulate the Earth to his very whim, if he wanted to, he could cause a tectonic shift in one of Equestria’s oceans and let loose a tsunami, cause a series of volcanoes to erupt all over Equestria or let a series of large earthquakes tear it apart and all this he can do with just a simple snap of the talons.

Except Celly won’t roast Equestria even more than it already has if Deathwing is attacking. She may be uber-powerful but even she knows ponies will get hurt if she tries to do that. Besides, unless she has the Dragon Soul, Deathwing could just friggin’ eat her.
