If you’ve haven’t seen Kamen Rider Wizard, basically whenever a Gate (basically special humans) falls to despair, the first sign of their transformation to a Phantom (the monster of the week) is that their treasured memory in their past begins to crack.

The mare Cadance died, giving birth to a Phantom… me.
I was mostly thinking because that would at least break Pinkie, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy too…
I actually see this as Shining Armor’s Despair Event Horizon after a bad end where Twilight does kill Cadance and he realizes he just set everything into motion by yelling at her.
Though that’s only after he finds out Twilight is dead, as he still clung onto the hope that she and Cadance are alive. And yes, I have thought of making that a fanfic.
it would be hillarious if this had happened the moment everyone walked out on Twilight. Twilight hit the Despair event horizon and turned into a neigh unkillable elder horror, and it’s all of your faults.
