They win the battle. Then you never play with them again, and they lose the war.
Granted you should not play with DM that pulls off crap like that. But that’s not my point, my point was that if DM wants to win they will win.
You can beat the DM at his game if you are clever enough and it is glorious when you manage to do so. The game should not degenerate to the party versus the DM in the first place though.
You didn’t read between the lines. Spitfire’s about to drop more rules lawyering than a session of the Supreme Court.
I’ve beat a DM, you just have to be sneaky and make sure they don’t see it coming. Call of cthulhu, three separate campaigns, I’ve only lost 3 sanity between them. Two I only took like 5 HP of damage in each. You just have to know how the game works, not necessarily better then the DM, just an understanding of how to build a character to make them suffer.
You don’t beat DM’s ass in D&D. Unless you count your party getting their souls devoured by demiliches beating someone.
I wonder if that’s the face she’ll wear when she beats Twi’s ass
