It’s cool to actually see Derpy’s name printed on official merchandise, since the closest I’ve ever seen was having her name visible on a Hot Topic receipt.

Yamino took the credit, gloated and lectured other fans what to think and feel. The funniest shit is seeing that pic of her sitting in an artist alley next to Andy Price. Price draws Derpy all the time. So much for pathos!

Looks more like Mimobot is claiming the trademark on “Derpy”.
 
Anyway, we’ve already had licensed products using the name Derpy, as well as the first wave of “The Friendship Express” DVDs, and that’s probably as “official” as the name will get. But I’ve been wrong before…

Yamino wasn’t the single person responsible for the censoring of Derpy, or “Derpygate.” It was several people, including the makers of the episode who decided on making the changes. (They even said Yamino wasn’t the cause of the edits.)
 
But please let’s not bring up Yamino, and Derpygate on here.

Of course they’re gonna claim trademark on it. Just because they don’t use “Derpy” for marketing purposes doesn’t mean they want anyone else using “Derpy” to make competing products. It’s part of why they’re so willing to embrace the other fanon names for background ponies: so that no other company can use them to appeal to bronies.
