Personally, I would have imagined Twilight’s reaction to growing wings would be PANIC PANIC PANIC more than anything else. She’s completely neurotic and she practically worships Celestia, it’s the perfect shitstorm.
Humble, or scared of her own greater signifigance?
When?
Today I learn that when I close my eyes and try to deny reality, it doesn’t change to my whims.
P.s I think reality is broken, can you fix it?
My, that’s a good point. I, for instance, have resorted to such unreasonableness as pointing out that Twilight is still the same character and that wings aren’t a big deal. How hostile and malicious I am!
…Okay, maybe I got a tad sarcastic there, but my point is that there are people who are not extreme. I haven’t seen many of those being against Twilight becoming a princess, though.
ur ableist and ofensive! …in all seriousness, did you read the rest of my coment?
“putting your opinion of how a character should feelt/acted besides a vector of same character is childish.”
its like saying; “I don’t agree with hasbro/show-staff decisions, therefore they are wrong…”
and if you wana talk about why i think that what they did was NOT-WRONG and everyone who wines is a big duck, it will boil down to:
-hasbro is a toy company and they need money, S3 was buttfucked by that fact. crying about it its pointless and make people look realy bad.
(not you shyflutter)
to clarify, i dont care about twilight alicorn, but i do like to call people ducks so here i am.
doing AU art were twi didnt turn into an alicorn or were she doesnt like being an alicorn and goes apeshit murderous is ok.
but putting your opinion of how a character should feel besides a vector of same character is childish. so yeah
QUACK
In my experiences, most of the venom and personal attacks in this discourse have been from the pro-Twilicorn camp.
No, that argument rests on the simple fact that negative feedback is always stronger and easier to pick up on than positive feedback. If you’re dissatisfied with something, you’re much more likely to voice your opinion and do so in a vocal manner.
Personally, I didn’t like the execution (20 minutes for a standard episode plot AND ascension AND coronation, while a sub-par humanized high school comedy gets its own movie?), but I’m fine with the development.
That argument rests on the assumption that every person dismayed by the change “spends their time arguing on the internet and cobbles together drama art”.
And, this.
I never said it did.
Did it ever occur to you that the majority of the fandom doesn’t spend their time arguing on the internet and cobbling together drama art?
In the technical sense, perhaps, but they’re not an insignificant faction. I’d say that the number of those opposed to the change and those supportive of the change are about equal, with neutral people outnumbering either.
I hesitate to call it minor. It gets way too much hate (and skepticism) to be a small group.
And I’m not just saying that as a part of it.
Yes, minor. Some make up for it by being loud and obnoxious, but they’re still the minority.
And I want a retcon to Mass Effect 3, it’s ending, and half Mass Effect 2. Compared to those travesties, Twilicorn is weaksauce weak ‘controversy.’
I’m not here to change your mind, as I’m guessing by this point that you cannot be convinced. I’m also not here to say that you should “get over it” or “leave the fandom,” because even although I disagree with you, I disagree more with circlejerking groupthink settling in. I’m just saying that compared to other controversial changes I’ve encountered, Twilicorn isn’t that bigger deal to me, thus in my personal opinion, there is nothing wrong with Twilicorn (so far)
Minor? And retcon would make it so it never happened. What most of us want is a conclusion to the Twilicorn ordeal that’s more in keeping with the rest of MMC, about how you shouldn’t let something or someone else tell you what your path in life is.
There are a number of reasons I’m opposed to Twilicorn, but I can’t be assed to get into them ATM.
@IchtudirWeh
Cool strawman.
I don’t care whether people like alicorn Twilight or not, asking for a retcon because a minor part of the fandom doesn’t like the development is dumb.
